Why wouldnt the Australians just diplomatically bully New Zealand into federation, it's still in their constitution and they would you know do that realistically especially if Australia threatens invasion.

That’s pretty much how I tried to show this playing out. Warships in NZ harbours on the one hand and strong arm diplomacy on the other. However the process is rushed and tensions spiral out of control as large numbers of Australians pour into NZ, and things deteriorate from there. Tricky to get all that across in just ten panels though, hence why I played up the drama.

Bloody good, man. As Kiwi watching Morrison boast the military budget every year, this hit me in the feels. I remember they ran a tongue-and-cheek ad about invading NZ for the summer back in the day, always wondered what that would look like, if it played out for real. Great work, bro!

Thank you! A friend showed me that ad recently after reading this comic. It did make me laugh! Have you seen the old NZ film Sleeping dogs? I’ve no idea whether it still stands up, but had the US invading NZ. It made quite an impact on me Back in the day.
