This is actually pretty true. It turns out a lot of your mood is dictated by your gut biome, the bacteria that live in your intestines. You can straight-up get chronic depression just from not eating right. You are not the master of your body, you are the figurehead monarch dictating the decisions of your intestinal Parliament.

Heh, I really like this comic. Not because I find it particularly scary, but because the themes of the "other me which decides how I feel before I even know it" which isn't the "me which is picking the words that go into this comment right this instant" are ones which I've grappled with for as long as I've remembered- sometimes, during therapy, too.It's strange, but I've come to grow fond of the me-that-isn't-this-me-that-is-typing-right-now. Perhaps as a result of said therapy. I used to have a really short temper, and I'd say that I was angry because it was the "logical emotion to have with the situation I'm in". But then a therapist told me to tell the part of…

This makes no sense. You don't have a voice in your head. I mean, I don't have one and last time I checked hearing voices was a sign for insanity.
Second, my actively thinking part triggered a lot of things like this comment. Which took time and effort. Hence this comment proves that I (the thinking part) have power. A lot of power.

So who is in control - the one making the decision or the one who controls what the decider sees, feels and knows? Most people can empathize and understand someone who commited crime to feed themselves and their family but is it not a loss of control due to very basic instincts of either satiating your hunger of protecting your family group?
